Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads utilizing these machinery. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are looking for a cheap method for moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles which can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very handy pieces of machine during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
