Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the components which lift and lower the load. There are various types of masts utilized for raising loads to various heights: quad, simplex, duplex and triplex.
Power Supply
There are four various ways you can power a forklift: gas, electric, diesel and propane. The battery is situated in the cab under the seat. The propane tank is on the back of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is under the back of the truck.
Cab
The forklift cab is positioned in the center of the truck. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, tilting controls, brake and lifting controls are all situated within the cab.
Frame
The frame of the truck carries all the largest components of the forklift, including the counterweights, which are situated at the back in order to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the axles, wheels and driveshaft.
