Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is made for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage areas. This model is suitable for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, like for example retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has solid rubber, small tires which make maneuvering very simple.
The operator of this kind of forklift usually stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as narrow ans short as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: one in the back, and two in the front. This configuration enables for easy and fast maneuvering. There are some models of these forklifts which are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment can pivot to the sides, allowing the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the entire equipment. The sit-down version generally has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered by an electric engine. Electric-powered machinery are not noisy and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the preferred alternative for closed areas like retail spaces. Several lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Nevertheless, the diesel model is not recommended for indoor use as it could be noisy and produce exhaust.
